Hungary 1830-A 20 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 4185 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 120 CHF (about US$144 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"AUSTRIA, Franz II. (I.), 1792-1835 20 Kreuzer 1830 A. Wien Für Ungarn. Beide Bänder anliegend. Selten. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Leicht justiert. (empire of Austria, Francis I, 1792-1835, twenty kreuzer of 1830, Vienna mint, struck for Hungary. Rare. Very fine-extremely fine. Minor adjustment marks.)"
This denomination, one-sixth of a thaler, was struck in various types for Austria 1806-72. This one, with the Madonna reverse, was issued from Vienna for Hungary 1830 only. Few were made and the type is now scarce.
