Sincona sale 76, lot 1489

This specimen was lot 1489 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$121 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Franz II. (I.), 1792-1835. 20 Kreuzer 1830 C, Prag. Vorzüglich-FDC. NGC MS61 PL. Prachtvoller Erstabschlag. (empire of Austria, Francis I, 1792-1835, twenty kreuzer of 1830, Prague mint. Extremely fine-uncirculated, Magnificent first strike.)"

This type was struck at Vienna (mintmark A), Kremnitz (B), Prague (C, shown here) and Karlsburg (E) 1829-30. This denomination, one-sixth of a thaler, was struck to this standard until 1852.

Recorded mintage: 1,754,000.

Specification: 6.68 g, 0.583 fine silver, this specimen 6.64 g.
