This specimen was lot 30332 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $1,410. The catalog description[1] noted, "Franz I gold Ducat 1818-G, MS63 NGC. Fully brilliant with well-struck details. Just a few faint planchet flaws appear in the right obverse field." This type is noted for 1816-24 from Vienna, Kremnitz, Nagybanya (shown here), Venice and Karlsburg. This type, which is common, is listed in Friedberg under Hungary.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a slightly better date.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, .109 troy oz AGW.
