Sincona sale 38, lot 1828

This specimen was lot 1828 in Sincona sale 38 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$780 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Franz II. (I.), 1792-1835 Dukat 1819 A. Wien. Gutes vorzüglich. (empire of Austria, Francis I, 1792-1835, ducat of 1819, Vienna mint. Good extremely fine.)"

This type was issued 1816-24 from Vienna (A, shown here), Kremnitz (B), Karlsburg (E), Venice (V) and Günzburg (G).

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, this specimen 3.48 g.
