This specimen was lot 2030 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 675 CHF (about US$979 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RDR / ÖSTERREICH, Franz II. (I.), 1792-1835. Konventionstaler 1818 A, Wien. NGC MS63. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. (empire of Austria, Francis II (I), 1792-1835, thaler of 1818, Vienna mint. Magnificent condition.)"
This thaler was struck 1817-24 at seven mints (A, B, C, E, G, M, V). Thalers were struck to this weight standard until 1852.
Recorded mintage: unknown but fairly common.
Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver, 40 mm diameter, this specimen 28.04 g.
