This specimen was lot 22036 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $446.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. 1/2 Taler, 1773. Hall Mint. Maria Theresa (1740-80). NGC MS-63. Sharply struck with attractive dark toning." This half convention thaler was struck at the Hall mint 1766-77, all with mintmaster AS. There is also a half thaler from the Vienna mint (KM 1867) which is slightly scarcer.

Specification: 14.03 g, 0.833 fine silver.
