Künker sale 406, lot 3858

This specimen was lot 3858 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €2,400 (about US$3,149 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Maria Theresia, 1740-1780. Dukat 1773, C-K, Wien. GOLD. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Leicht justiert, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, ducat of 1773, Vienna mint. Scarce in this quality, lightly adjusted, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type was struck at Vienna 1765-80. Confusingly, the photo in the SCWC shows a ducat of Joseph II (KM 1859).
