Sincona sale 23, lot 3041

This specimen was lot 3041 in Sincona sale 23 (Zürich, May 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR/ÖSTERREICH, Franz I. 1745-1765 Konventionstaler 1757. Hall. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Francis I (1745-65), convention thaler of 1757, Hall mint, very fine to extremely fine.)"

The type was struck 1751-65 and is common. It was minted at Hall (shown here), Prague (Dav-1158), Kremnitz (Dav-1157) and Vienna.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 28.82 g, 0.875 fine silver, .810 troy oz ASW, this specimen 27.91 g.
