Künker sale 406, lot 4494

This specimen was lot 4494 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,115 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Ferdinand II. 1592-1618-1637. Reichstaler 1626, Wien. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich. (Austria, Ferdinand II, 1618-37, thaler of 1626, Vienna mint. Handsome patina, extremely fine.)"

Austrian thalers for 1626 include KM 521/Dav-3106, KM 599/Dav-3091 (shown here), KM 628/Dav-3108, KM 629.1/Dav-3337 and KM 631/Dav-3097. This type was struck 1625-38 and is common.
