This specimen was lot 43389 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Empire. Franc, Year 12-H (1803/4). La Rochelle Mint. Napoleon I. PCGS AU-53. VERY RARE and exceptionally alluring, this near-Mint minor provides a charmingly toned nature and only light circulation, though some adjustment marks are noted upon the reverse. From the Richard Margolis Collection (acquired from Hirsch in 1988 for $170). Ex: Gerhard Hirsch Nachf. (11/1988) Lot # 2132." This type was struck years 12-14 and the Paris mint product is moderately common.

Recorded mintage: 4,398, a rare date, plus 56,812 of the PREMIER CONSUL type (F.200/12).

Specifications: 5 g, 0.900 fine silver, 23 mm diameter, decorated edge.
