Stack's Bowers 2025 ANA sale, lot 43332

This specimen was lot 43332 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $3,840. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Consulate. Franc, Year XI-W (1802/3). Lille Mint. Napoleon as First Consul. PCGS EF-45. Gunmetal gray in hue and with some darker hints around the devices, this minor stands as a VERY RARE emission. From the Richard Margolis Collection (acquired from CGF in 2005 for $330). Ex: Comptoir Général Financier XXIV (6/2005) Lot # 1918." This type was struck years XI and 12 and the Paris mint product is moderately common (52.9% of the total minted).

Recorded mintage: 5,756, a very scarce date.

Specification: 5 g, 0.900 fine silver, 23 mm diameter, decorated edge.
