This specimen was lot 71239 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Consulate. Franc, Year XI-D (1802/3). Lyon Mint. Napoleon (as First Consul). PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, VF Details. Though some cleaning is noted, this charming minor offers some delightful amber-gray hues beginning to take hold. From the Richard Margolis Collection (acquired from Superior in 1990 for $275). Ex: Palace Collections of Egypt [King Farouk] (Sotheby's - 3/1954) Lot # 2132 (part of)." This type was struck years XI and 12 and the Paris mint product is moderately common (52.9% of the total minted).

Recorded mintage: 12,009[2], a scarce date.

Specification: 5 g, 0.900 fine silver, 23 mm diameter, decorated edge.
