Morton & Eden sale 104, lot 358

This specimen was lot 358 in Morton & Eden sale 104 (London, November 2019), where it sold for £2,000 (about US$3,098 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic, 4 reales, Guadalupe y Calvo mint, 1845 MP, a few old surface scratches on reverse, very good to fine, excessively rare. Ex Miguel Munoz Collection, Superior, 4-8 June 1979, lot 3094." All the four reales from this mint are rare, with this date being very rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a very rare date, unpriced in the SCWC.

Specification: 13.54 g, 0.903 fine silver, 0.3925 troy oz ASW.
