from Künker sale 352, lot 2093

This specimen was lot 2093 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €3,800 (about US$5,289 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM, Johann Georg I. 1615-1656. Dukat 1622, Dresden, auf die Taufe des siebten kurfürstlichen Prinzen Heinrich. GOLD. Von großer Seltenheit. Kl. Henkelspur, sehr schön. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, John George I, 1615-56, ducat of 1622, on the baptism of the seventh electoral Prince Heinrich, Dresden mint. Extremely rare, small mount mark, very fine.)"

This baptismal ducat was accompanied by Fr-2676 (double ducat).
