This specimen was lot 1062 in Jean Elsen sale 120 (Brussels, March 2014), where it sold for €160 (about US$263 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, SAXE, Johann Georg Ier (1615-1656), AR Taler, 1622, Dresde. Droit: B. cuirassé à droite, tenant une épée sur l'épaule et un heaume. Revers: Grand écu surmonté de six heaumes. Petit défaut de flan au droit. Belle patine. Très Beau à Superbe. (Germany, Saxony, John George I, 1615-56, silver thaler of 1622, Dresden mint. Obverse: armored bust to right, bearing a sword and helmet; reverse: large arms with six helmets above. Small planchet defect on obverse, nice patina; very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type is listed for 1620-38 and is slightly scarcer than the preceding type (Dav-7591). This specimen seems to lack the "HvR" mintmaster's initials listed for this date.
