This specimen was lot 1157 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $176.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "CAMENZ: City coinage, AE 3 pfennig, 1622, angel wing // BONO / PVBL. / CAM. / 1622, superb example, lustrous, NGC graded MS64 BR. An example graded MS63 BR by NGC sold at our Auction 23, Lot 2360, for $150." Camenz or Kamenz was a town in the Oberlausitz (Upper Lausitz). Lausitz (upper and lower) and Silesia were attached to the Bohemian crown and fell under Habsburg rule when the king of Hungary was killed by the Turks in 1526. Oberlausitz, including Kamenz, was annexed by Saxony in 1635 and ceased to coin. This issue is accompanied by one and two pfennig (KM 1 and 2). Silesia remained Austrian until the Seven Years War, when it was invaded and seized by Frederick the Great.
