This specimen was struck at the Zacatecas mint in 1837. This mint struck silver and gold coins 1826-1905, with one reals known for 1826-62 and 1868-69. Assayer OM is recorded for 1831-55. An overdate, 1836/5, is listed for the date. The issues of Zacatecas, along with Guanajuato and Mexico City, are generally common.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 3.38 g, 0.903 fine silver, .099 troy oz ASW.
