This type was struck at Mexico City 1870-92. The type is also recorded from Culiacan, Durango, Guanajuato, Alamos, Hermosillo and Zacatecas but Mexico City is by far the most prolific issuer. The series, never popular, ended in 1893.

Recorded mintage: est. 400.

Specification: 4.23 g, .875 fine gold, .119 troy oz AGW.
