from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 74315

This specimen was lot 74315 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Holy Roman Empire. Taler, 1621. Hall Mint. Archduke Leopold V. PCGS Genuine--Damage, EF Details." This type was struck 1620-21 and is fairly common. Other Austrian thalers for 1621 include Dav-3076 (Vienna), Dav-3100 (Graz), Dav-3102 (Graz), Dav-3114 (Prague?), Dav-3115, Dav-3116 (Klagenfurt), Dav-3118, Dav-3119 (Klagenfurt), Dav-3120 (Klagenfurt), Dav-3121, Dav-3125 (Hall), Dav-A3125 (Hall), Dav-A3147, Dav-3329 (Hall), Dav-3330 and several double thalers.
