The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "SWITZERLAND | Zurich | Stadt und Kanton, Doppeldukat 1716, Zürich. Very rare. About uncirculated. Magnificent condition." This scarce type was struck 1707-16 along with quarter ([[Zurich 1714 1/4 ducat Fr-488|Fr-488]]), half ([[Zurich 1716 1/2 ducat Fr-487a|Fr-487a]]) and single ducats ([[Zurich 1716 ducat Fr-486|Fr-486a]]). In 1798, the canton of Zurich was forcibly incorporated into the Helvetic Republic.

The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND | Zurich | Stadt und Kanton, Doppeldukat 1716, Zürich. Very rare. About uncirculated. Magnificent condition."
