Sincona sale 91, lot 3657

This specimen was lot 3657 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 450 CHF (about US$595 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Vierteldukat 1716, Zürich. Selten. Fast vorzüglich. Gewellt. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, quarter ducat of 1716, Zürich mint. Rare, About extremely fine, Wavy flan.)"

This type was struck 1708-09, 1712-16.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 0.875 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 0.85 g.
