This specimen was lot 33849 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $352.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "East Prussia. Friedrich Wilhelm III 3 Groschen 1808-A MS63 NGC, Berlin mint. The coin boasts a full strike on both sides with a cabinet toning effect that is mottled with colors of slight iridescent light turquoise, tangerine, and some coral reds. This is a remarkable example of the type, and the finest graded specimen to date by NGC." This billon type was struck for East Prussia 1800-07.
