This specimen was lot 22345 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. San Luis Potosi. 5 Centavos, 1870-PiG/ MoC. VERY RARE date. VERY GOOD." The Potosi mint struck silver five centavos 1869-81 and 1886-93. Most dates prior to 1886 are rare; this one is not priced in the SCWC.

Recorded mintage: 20,000 (assayers O and G).

Specification: 1.354 g, .903 fine silver, .0393 troy oz ASW.
