This specimen was lot 1681 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $300. The catalog description[1] noted, "China. 25 Yuan, 1990-P. Panda looking left. NGC graded Proof 67 Ultra Cameo." This NCLT was the eighth quarter ounce panda, the series having begun in 1983. Subsequent programs added silver and platinum pandas in varying sizes from one gram up to 4.85 kilo.

Recorded mintage: 31,148 + 5,000 proofs.

Specification: 7.78 g, 0.999 fine gold.
