This specimen was lot 2577 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Braunschweig-Lüneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, Herzogtum, Georg II. 1727-1760. 1/3 Taler 1749, Clausthal. Reichstandard Feinsilber. Mit der Münzmeistersignatur CPS. Selten. Sehr schön (Rare, Very fine)." The 12 mariengroschen was terminated after 1715. This one-third thaler, which superseded it, was struck 1740, 1743, 1749 and 1751. There is also a wild man one-third thaler dated 1749-IBH.
