This specimen was lot 2576 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 160 CHF (about US$214 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Braunschweig-Lüneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, Herzogtum, Georg II. 1727-1760. 1/3 Taler 1748, Zellerfeld. Feinsilber. Mit der Münzmeistersignatur IBH. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. Feine Patina. Kleine Kratzer (Rare, Good very fine, Nicely toned, Small scratches)." The 12 mariengroschen was terminated after 1715. This one-third thaler, which superseded it, was struck 1737-60. This was the only one-third thaler struck in 1748.
