The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[France|FRANCE]]. 15 Sols, 1792-W. Lille Mint. Louis XVI. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield. 2nd semester, with dot. The only [one] of the type in the PCGS census, this lustrous, near choice example emanates from the troubled revolutionary period just before the king was executed." This type was struck 1791-93 at numerous mints. Its face value was one-eighth of an écu.
