This specimen was lot 37436 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. 20 Pence, ND (1637-42). Edinburgh Mint. Charles I. NGC MS-61. Third Coinage. Falconer's Anonymous issue. Ex: Spink & Son (Sold 7/1962)." Forty pence was one twelfth of a Scottish pound or one eighth merk. This particular issue accompanied a twelve shillings and a thirty shillings.
