This specimen was lot 37438 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. 2 Shillings, ND (1642). Edinburgh Mint. Charles I. PCGS VF-35. Fourth Coinage. From the Richard August Collection." The Scots two shillings was roughly equal to the English halfgroat. The reverse motto, "· IVST · THRONVM · FIRMAT ·", means "Justice strengthens the throne."
