This specimen was lot 37430 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. 6 Shillings, ND (1637-42). Edinburgh Mint. Charles I. PCGS VF-30. Briot's Issue. From the Richard August Collection." This six shillings would have traded for an English sixpence. The reverse motto, "QVÆ · DEVS · CONIVNXIT · NEMO · SEPARET ·", means "What God hath joined together, let no man put asunder".
