The type was struck at Guanajuato 1826-68, with assayer PM listed for 1842-48. This specimen was lot 8155 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $431.25. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Guanajuato. 1/2 Real, 1844-GoPM. NGC MS-64." The SCWC notes an 1844/3 overdate. This date is listed as common.
