This specimen was lot 5718 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €4,200 (about US$5,845 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG, FÜRSTENTUM, Georg II. 1727-1760. Reichstaler 1749, Zellerfeld. Ausbeute der Grube Güte des Herrn. Prachtexemplar mit feiner Patina. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Aus der Sammlung eines Ingenieurs. Exemplar der Auktion Westfälische Auktionsgesellschaft 16, Dortmund 2000, Nr. 603. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, George II, 1727-60, thaler of 1749, Zellerfeld mint, for the "Goodness of the Lord" mine. Choice example with fine patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1745, 1749 and 1756 and is expensive. The elector George II was also king George II of England.
