Mexico SB520-70243r.jpg

This specimen was lot 70243 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2020), where it sold for $90. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Centavos, 1890-Mo M. Shown is an 1890-MoM five centavos, of a type struck at the Mexico City mint 1869-1897. This issue is one of the plentiful dates, even in nice condition. Other mints include Hermosillo, Culiacan, Durango, Zacatecas, Chihuahua, Potosi, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Alamos and Guanajuato. An overdate, 1890/00, is recorded for the year.

Specification: 1.35 g, .903 fine silver, .039 troy oz ASW.

Recorded mintage: 1,694,000.

Catalog reference: KM-398.7.
