Sincona sale 91, lot 3699

This specimen was lot 3699 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 525 CHF (about US$694 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Halbdukat 1756, Zürich. Fast vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, half ducat of 1756, Zürich mint. About extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1718-67 along with quarter (Fr-488a), single (Fr-486a) and double ducats (Fr-485a).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.75 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 1.71 g.
