This specimen was lot 5333 in Sincona sale 80 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 275 CHF (about US$ including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND | Zurich | Stadt und Kanton, Vierteldukat 1753, Zürich. Very fine-extremely fine. Minor edge flaw." This scarce type was struck 1718-67 along with double (Fr-485a), half (Fr-487a) and single ducats (Fr-486a). In 1798, the canton of Zürich was forcibly incorporated into the Helvetic Republic.
