Sincona sale 91, lot 3697

This specimen was lot 3697 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 425 CHF (about US$562 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Halbtaler 1751, Zürich. Spruch. Gutes vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, half thaler of 1751, Zürich mint, motto reverse. Good extremely fine.)"

This half thaler was struck 1723-68 and is thoroughly mixed with the city view half thalers (KM 146) of the same period.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, this specimen 13.80 g.
