Sincona sale 98, lot 4689

This specimen was lot 4689 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 140 CHF (about US$203 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, 10 Schilling 1751, Zürich. Vorzüglich. Zainende. (Switzerland, city and canton of Zürich, ten schilling of 1751, Zürich mint. Extremely Fine, Edge clip.)"

This type was struck 1718-27, 1730-32, 1736-53 and was worth one quarter gulden or one eighth thaler. In 1798, the canton of Zürich was forcibly incorporated into the Helvetic Republic.
