Sincona sale 91, lot 3696

This specimen was lot 3696 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 525 CHF (about US$694 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Taler 1751, Zürich. Spruch. . Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Gutes vorzüglich. Feine Patina. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, thaler of 1751, Zürich mint, motto reverse. Rare in this condition, Good extremely fine, Nicely toned.)"

This type was struck 1736-68 and is thoroughly mixed with the "city view" thalers of the same period.
