This specimen was lot 3560 in Künker sale 440 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €480 (about US$660 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH Friedrich II. (I.), 1797-1806-1816. 1/2 Kreuzer 1813. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Exemplar der Lagerliste Fritz Rudolf Künker 116, Osnabrück, November 1995, Nr. 1691. (kingdom of Württemberg, Frederick I, 1806-16, half kreuzer of 1813. Rare in this quality, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1812-16. One convention thaler was 120 kreuzer. Frederick, who ascended the throne of Württemberg as a duke, was promoted to king by Napoleon in 1806. He did quite well out of Napoleon's reorganization of Germany and found his realm doubled in size. A timely switching of sides allowed him to keep his gains at the Congress of Vienna.
