Turkey 1962 500 kurush
This specimen was lot 31767 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $4,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 'Deluxe' 500 Kurush 1962 MS66 NGC. Monnaie de Luxe issue that features the head of Atakurk within a circle of stars and wreath, with exceptional prooflike surfaces and near-flawless fields. The central images are expertly detailed and both sides display stylistic imagery. A veritable Gem and rarely encountered as such."
