This type was struck 1958-68 before inflation rendered it worthless. The spelling on the coin, "10 KURUŞ", is best transliterated into English as "10 kurush", which is how we have spelled it here. It was accompanied by a one and five kurush, also in bronze. The SCWC states the plant shown on the reverse is oat but it more closely resembles wheat, a crop first domesticated in Turkey millenia ago.
Recorded mintage: 10,390,000.
Specification: 4 g, bronze, 21.3 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM 891.1.
