This specimen was lot 995 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $1,586.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: AV 500 kurush, 1923 year 43 (1966), mintage 4914, NGC graded MS65. This is the only specimen of this type, all dates, that has been graded MS65, with none higher." This type was struck in limited quantities in 1941 and 1950-2010. A 500 kurush monnaie de luxe (Fr-208) also exists.

Recorded mintage: 4,914.

Specification: 36.08 g, 0.917 fine gold, 1.0638 troy oz AGW.
