Stack's Bowers October 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 73147

This specimen was lot 73147 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $5,280. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Estado De Mexico. Tenancingo. 20 Centavos, 1915. NGC MS-63 Brown. The sole finest graded example yet certified by NGC, doubling its appeal on account of its status as the GB Plate coin. The surfaces display a glossy appeal, with deep brown complexion, and tremendous eye appeal throughout." This type, accompanied by copper two, five and ten centavos, is common but normally comes wretched.
