The first specimen was lot 545 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 210 euro (about US$333 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"1809. Tarragona. 5 pesetas. Atractiva. MBC+. (Five pesetas of 1809, Tarragona. Attractive choice very fine.)"

The second specimen was lot 46093 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $528. The catalog description[2] noted, "SPAIN. Terragona. 5 Pesetas, 1809. Tarragona (Cataluna) Mint. Ferdinand VII. NGC EF-45. Large "0" in date, curved base. A well-centered coin with even dark gray toning throughout and fields mostly free of noticeable marks. Some light lamination is noted on the reverse." Tarragona, along with Gerona and Lerida, briefly resisted the French invader in 1809. During the siege, silver five pesetas were issued using available silver. Numerous varieties exist.
