This specimen was lot 3527 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$132 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ St. Gallen, 2 Pfennig 1808, St. Gallen. Sehr selten. Schön-sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of St. Gall, two pfennig of 1808, St. Gall mint. Very rare, Fine-very fine.)"

This type was struck 1808 only and is rare. This denomination was little used in Switzerland; we believe it traded for half a kreuzer.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: billon, this specimen 0.58 g.

Catalog reference: KM 108, D.T. 174, HMZ 2-920a.
