Sincona sale 91, lot 3520

This specimen was lot 3520 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$132 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ St. Gallen, Halbbatzen 1807, St. Gallen. Wertangabe "1/2 SCHWEIZER BAZEN". Gutes sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of St. Gall, half batzen of 1807, St. Gall mint. Good very fine.)"

This type was struck 1807 and 1810-17. Another half batzen of 1807 had the value stated as "½ BAZEN" (KM 103). Forty batzen made a thaler.
