This specimen was lot 512 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 600 euro (about US$952 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1597. Sevilla. B. 8 reales. Leyenda: OMNIUM. Rara. (MBC+). (Eight reales of 1597, Seville mint, OMNIUM in legend. Rare, very fine plus.)"
This type, a cob similar to those being minted in Latin America, may be contrasted to the machine-struck pesos being produced in Segovia.
