Spain 1597-Seg 2 maravedis

from the Mountain Groan Collection

This specimen is from a Spanish type milled at the Segovia mint 1592 and 1597-98 during the reign of Philip II. It was countermarked early in the reign of Philip III to raise its value to four maravedis ("IIII"). It has a low catalog value.
