This specimen was lot 46067 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTH AFRICA. 6 Pence, 1926. PCGS AU-55 Gold Shield. A well struck coin with pleasing, light iridescent toning on both sides, and a few dark spots." The six pence was struck in South Africa 1923-60. It was 0.800 fine silver until 1930 and 0.500 fine thereafter. The first issues (1923-24) had a numeric reverse.

Recorded mintage: 722,000 + 16 proofs.

Specification: 2.83 g, 0.800 fine silver, 19.4 mm diameter.
