This specimen was lot 57756 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTH AFRICA. 1/2 Sovereign, 1926-SA. Pretoria Mint. George V. PCGS MS-64." The half sovereign was struck in South Africa intermittently 1923-60. This is the only type struck for George V and was issued 1923-26.

Recorded mintage: 809,000.
